~DANNY “DYNAMITE” PEREZ~

Born in Ventura and raised in Oxnard, Danny began boxing at the young age of 11 along with his buddy World Class Fighter, Fernando Vargas. At age 12, Danny began his amateur career where he soon became “Jr. Golden Gloves Champion,” at age 14 and “Silver Gloves Champion” at age 15. At 16 yrs old, Danny moved to San Diego along with his family.

He continued to compete, winning the “California State Golden Gloves Championship” right here in San Diego. From this he went on to fight Fernando Vargas for the Nationals. At age 17 Danny became ranked #7 in the Nation as an Amateur! At this time, Danny took a brief break and came back with a new trainer, who turned him “Pro” on January 24, 1996 at 19 years old. During Danny’s Pro career, he trained/sparred with various World Class Champions such as Oscar De La Hoya. Before fighting the following title fights, Danny was on a “KNOCKOUT” streak! Everyone that got in the ring with him was sure to be knocked out! This is when his Manager/Trainer gave him the name “Dynamite!”

On May 18, 2000 Danny fought for the “California Title” and won. July 20, 2000 he fought for the “Texas Title” and won. On October 12, 2000 he fought for the “NABF Title” in Texas and won. And in 2001 he fought for the “NABA Title” where he won this as well! Danny fought at the ‘Welterweight’ divisions for all these titles. 26 years old at the time, Danny was proudly ranked “#3 in the world!” He was offered by his promoter, ‘Top Rank’ a shot at the “WBO World Title” on October 12, 2002 against World Champion, Antonio Margarito, nevertheless, Danny didn’t get the decision, we are so proud to say this fight went the full distance, which is yet to happen for any of Margarito’s opponents. Danny currently has 4 Title Belts and holds an amazing Pro record of 34 wins, 5 loses with 17 knockouts. When talking to Danny he will tell you this, “Knowing my opponent is showing up to kick my ass; drives me to train even harder!”
