EJ
~ERNEST JOHNSON~ A.K.A. “TOO SLICK” Ernest also known as E.J. by many, started boxing in 1993 at the age of 13. After three short months, E.J. had his first Amatuer fight. It was in 1994 during his fifth fight that he won the “Regional U.S. Championships” in the 13-14 age division. He took a short break while in high school to play & focus on high school sports such as track, baseball, football & wrestling, earned a college scholarship in wrestling at a division II school and turned it down to pursue boxing. In 1997 at age 17, E.J. returned to the ring. In 1998 & 1999 he became a Two-Time Champ of the “Oregon State Golden Gloves” and “U.S. Championships.” During the year 2000 E.J won numerous titles. He is a Three-Time “Boxers For Christ” Jr.-Welterweight Champion,” he won the ”California State Golden Gloves,” he was “2000 Western Trials Champion” and was an alternate for the “2000 Olympics!” E.J. held an Amateur record of 68-11 and later turned Pro in 2001 on the ‘Mayweather vs. Diego Corrales’ under card at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He currently has an amazing record of 15-2 with 6 K.O.’s. He was ranked #11 in the USBA ratings in 2004 and hopes to break into the top 10 rankings by 2007. He is a 2nd Generation Fighter, the son of Ernest Johnson, who as a Pro held a record of 14-3 and was rated the top 10 in the world as a Featherweight, unfortunately his retirement came early due to a detached retina. In addition to training E.J., Ernest is currently training three other Pros, Top 10 Featherweight ‘Tiger Smalls,’ Cruiserweight ‘Isreal Spencer,’ and Heavyweight ‘Anthony Mooney.’ E.J. has one thought that he’d like to leave with you and that is: “IF YOU FAIL TO PREPARE…PREPARE TO FAIL!”
